Your child is ready for First Communion! How exciting!
First Communion Preparation is a two year process: children typically begin in first grade and receive their sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion in the spring of their second grade year.
Sacramental preparation is a serious part of catechesis, and heavily depends on parental involvement: after all, you are your child's first and primary catechist. If your child is a rising 2nd grader who has not completed their first year of sacramental preparation, please contact the office.
First Communion students are expected to attend all classes, barring emergencies and illness, as well as all the workshops and retreats. There is a MANDATORY First Communion Parent Meeting on Tuesday, August 23 or Wednesday, August 31. Please attend one of these sessions. We will cover everything you will need to know about First Communion preparation. The Parent Packet is below. Parents are responsible for making sure their children complete the requirements. Classes begin Sunday, August 28.
The cost of First Communion Faith Formation is $60.
