Because our homeless brothers and sisters are often on their feet without adequate footwear, their feet may be bad shape. Add the harsh winters of Alaska, and they are sometimes unknowingly suffering from frostbite. Without care, our brothers and sisters may develop infections that can lead to debilitating conditions and/or amputations.
Twice a month, our parishioners serve the poor by providing a foot care clinic at Br. Francis shelter. You will learn how to evaluate their foot condition and provide basic care. For those who are certified in nursing, you will be able to offer more in-depth care to help our brothers and sisters who are suffering.
To join, meet us at the shelter every second Wednesday and fourth Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. or contact us.
