About St. Patrick's

Impelled by love of Christ and led by our pastor, Fr. Leo Walsh, our parish seeks to make disciples of all nations, starting here at home.

In 1971, Archbishop Ryan recognized a need for a new parish to serve the Catholic faithful on the east side of Anchorage. Without a facility, parishioners of St. Anthony Church came together to form this new parish community at a local elementary school.

From our humble beginnings of celebrating Mass on the gym floor of Chester Valley Elementary School in 1971, St. Patrick’s Parish has grown into a thriving Catholic community of over 1,300 families.
