In 1971, Archbishop Ryan recognized a need for a new parish to serve the Catholic faithful on the east side of Anchorage. Without a facility, parishioners of St. Anthony Church came together to form this new parish community at a local elementary school.
From our humble beginnings of celebrating Mass on the gym floor of Chester Valley Elementary School in 1971, St. Patrick’s Parish has grown into a thriving Catholic community of over 1,300 families.
