To "know Jesus Christ, and Him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:2), we need to continue learning about our faith as adults.
St. Patrick's offers 3 adult Bible Studies: one via Zoom on Monday evenings, one on Zoom on Wednesday mornings, and one in person on Thursday mornings.
Each group runs on its own schedule and does its own study, always posted in the bulletin. We cover a variety of topics, including but not limited to: Introduction to the Bible for Adults, Overview of the Bible, The Bible and the Mass, Acts of the Apostles, the Sunday Mass readings, Gospel of John, and so much more!
The cost of the study is generally $25-30, depending on the cost of the study guide itself. Scholarships are available if the fee is an issue.
Are you interested in a certain topic or in leading your own study? Contact Beth for more information.
Cor* exists to form and strengthen Catholic men in faith and virtue as missionary disciples by drawing them into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, formation, and fraternity.
St. Patrick's offers three Cor groups. One meets on Tuesday mornings, from 6:30 - 8:00 am in Room 220 at Alaska Pacific University's Grant Hall. The second meets on Thursday evenings, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the Hospitality Room at St. Patrick's. The third group meets on Friday mornings, from 8:00 - 10:00 am, starting with Mass at Holy Family Old Cathedral, followed by a discussion at Captain Cook Coffee. Contact the parish office at (907) 337-1538 for more information about any of these groups!
*Cor is Latin for heart, drawn from St. John Henry Newman's motto: Cor ad cor loquitur: "Heart speaks to heart".
Our weekly Symbolon study, led by Fr. Leo and the deacons, takes place from 10:00 - 11:00 on Sundays. It will resume on September 24. This fall, we will discuss living the faith through the Sacraments, Catholic Moral Teachings, and Catholic Social Teaching. Join us for coffee, donuts, and discussion!
St. Patrick's is proud to offer SPRED, Special Religious Education for Adults. Each friend (an adult with special needs) is paired with an assistant catechist, who accompanies him or her throughout the year.
Interested in becoming a Catholic? Join us on Tuesday evenings beginning August 29 for OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) as we learn more about God and about the Church Jesus founded.
St. Patrick's offers annual ACTS retreats. More information is available HERE.
"From the moment a soul has the grace to know God, she must seek."

Well-Read Mom accompanies women in reading great books and spiritual classics to encourage personal growth, friendship, and meaningful conversation to explore the human condition and reorient ourselves to what is good, beautiful, and true.
Our group reads one book per month and meets to discuss it once a month. Book selections for each year correspond to the themes of a woman's life. This year, we are excited to dive into the theme of "seeking" with the help of some excellent authors such as Brother Lawrence, T. S. Eliot, and Natalie Merrill, among others.
Despite the name, you do not have to be a mom to join us!
