St. Patrick's faith formation education program is called Kairos. The program is designed to be substantive, engaging and fun. We have two Sunday sessions of Kairos for different age groups. We also have innumerable other faith formation opportunities for adults during the week all year long.
The Sunday morning Kairos session is for children aged preschool through 5th grade. The session starts at 10:00 a.m. in the parish hall with opening prayer and dismissal to class, and ends at 11:15 a.m. The Sunday evening Kairos session is for elementary grades 3 and up, middle school and high school. This session starts at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall with opening prayer and dismissal to class, and ends at 8:00 p.m. See the handbook for complete details. Registration for our program continues year around.
Sacrament preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation takes place within the Kairos program. Preparation for First Reconciliation and Communion takes place in the morning for all children who are in second grade and are 7 years of age. The archdiocese requirements include children participating in faith formation the year prior to receiving the sacrament. Preparation for Confirmation takes place on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm for youth who are in 10th grade and age 16 with the same requirement of participation in faith formation the year prior to receiving the sacrament.
